Manicures at the salon are a little different these days. I went in mid-July, and as great as it is getting your nails done by a pro, I was a little overwhelmed. And BROKE after. So I got to experimenting: I got a dip kit and a few other DIY manicure items. I'm still working on the technique for the dip manicure, so today we're going to focus on one of those "other things" I mentioned I got. Let me tell you, this is my best work mani-work yet.
There you have it! These plain nails. That's it! Here's how it's completely done:
I file and buff my nails as normal. Wash and dry, then you're ready to begin. Match up the size of these nails to your actual nail, glue, buff and file, then you paint whatever color you want! Tip: Try to stay clear of water for at least 1/2 hour after you glue so the glue can set. Also, do be careful for the first couple of hours, that way everything can dry and set (basically like any other mani). This is the result of my recent manicure:
Not bad, right? I'm pretty proud of my handy work if I do say so myself. There are also pre-painted/pre-styled options, so even if you don't want to paint them yourself you can still have options. So what do you say? Are you ready to have a salon worthy manicure in the comfort of your own home?!
If you do give yourself a mani, be sure to tag me on Instagram, @_cozysyd, or send me an email! I'd love to see YOUR work!
